The iconic Vivienne Westwood dress in final fantasy 15
Lunafreya Nox Fleuret's wedding dress in Final Fantasy XV is a real Vivienne Westwood design, and the game makes sure you know it.
“Everyone looks so happy…”
The Westwood brand involvement wasn't just visual — it was woven into the game's narrative. Players hear radio reports on their drive to Altissia about how Noctis's bride-to-be had her dress made by Westwood, and the game later rewards players for visiting a Vivienne Westwood boutique specifically to view it. The brand becomes part of the world's storytelling, not just a logo slapped on a loading screen.
When Westwood passed away on December 29, 2022, FFXV art director Yusuke Naora paid tribute to her publicly, a small but meaningful acknowledgment of what the partnership had meant to the team.
FFXV was notably loaded with real-world product placement — Audi, American Express, Nissin Cup Noodles, Uniqlo — but the Westwood collaboration stands apart because it's the only one that became a piece of the game's emotional core. A dress you hear about on the radio. A store you're sent to visit. A character's fate tied to it.
