Mario Kart 64’s parody Logos
The Japanese version of Mario Kart 64 had parody ads around its tracks of real world brands. While most were racing related brands, somehow a parody ad of Marlboro cigarettes made it into the game.
Yoshi 1 stood in for Mobil 1. Luigip riffed on Agip. Koopa Air took Goodyear's shape and colors.
For several, pretty obvious reasons, none of these parody ads made it to the US version of the game. The Shell-inspired Shot! sign being the only survivor, deemed subtle enough to slip through.
